Facebook Tip: Add a Tab With Custom HTML To Your Page or Profile

Recently a client asked if there was a way to add some custom HTML to a Facebook “Page”.  I did a little research and found the My Info application and some handy instructions for adding it to your page, rather than your profile.

  1. Go to the main About/Help page for My Profile Box: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=62088208022
  2. Click on Add to Page (instead of Go to Application)
  3. Choose the business page you want to add it to and then click Add to Page

The result is that you can add custom html to your page, and make it a “tab”.  The downside is that the tab is called “My Info”.

You can then “edit” your page, and specifically edit your “wall” settings to change your default landing page (really they mean “tab”) and set that to the “My Info” tab.
